Monument of Independence Kiev, Ukraine

In the middle of the “Majdan Nezaležnosti”, Kiev’s independence square, sits the impressive monument made out of the US-American granite Bethel White. With its height of 63 meters it overtops all buildings in the surroundings and is one of the biggest tourist attractions in town.

A six meters high statue, standing on a globe, crowns the pillar pointing to the skies. Bethel White is one of the whitest, if not the whitest available granite and perfectly suitable for this kind of project. His outstanding technical properties allow outdoor applications, even under extreme temperature fluctuations. Moreover, he is very hard and highly durable.
