The Davani Group uses over 20 varieties of black granite in designer and bespoke cladding, floor tiles, wall tiles, bathtubs, and other furniture. We source black granite from quarries in several locations around the world, shipping black granite blocks to our workshops in Italy.
Black granite is a durable igneous stone. As one of the harder natural stones used in furniture and tiles, granite is resistant to damage and scratching, which makes it ideal for outdoor use and in applications where it is expected to experience wear and tear, such as in paving, tabletops, and countertops.
Granite is formed when quartz, feldspar, mica, and other minerals are exposed to heat and pressure. Most granites are light in color—whites and pinks are common. Black granite is rarer and indicates the presence of amphibole in the rock, which gives granite a black or dark green coloration. Some stones that are referred to as black granite are, in fact, varieties of gabbro, a similarly hard natural stone made of pyroxene and plagioclase.
We offer over 20 varieties of black granite, including granites with a mixture of additional colors, including blue, white, and red, in various patterns.
